Lawn Cutting Area Calculator
Use this planning tool to estimate area. It does not calculate a final price; the active service rate, condition, access and scope determine the quote.
Why the final price may differ
Measurements are only one part of the work. Condition, preparation, access, equipment and requested finish also affect the scope.
Estimate the measured area
How to measure
Measure the longest and widest points of each area in feet and multiply them. For irregular shapes, split the space into rectangles, calculate each and add them together. Round up rather than down; it is better for the quote to allow a little extra than to run short.
What affects the price of lawn cutting
- Grass height and how long since the last cut; overgrown lawns take longer and may need two passes
- Slopes, trees, beds and obstacles that slow mowing and need edging
- Whether clippings are bagged and removed or mulched
- Edging, hedge trimming and blowing paths included or not
- One-time cut versus a regular schedule, which is usually cheaper per visit
Turn the number into a quote
Once you have the area, send it with your location, a few photos and any access notes through the quote form. The office uses the measurement, the condition and the current service rate to prepare a fixed price, so you know the cost before the work starts.
